The Department of Civil Engineering was started with a sanctioned intake of 60 in the year 2013.
The department aims to enrich the knowledge of students in both theory and practice with a team of highly qualified faculty with rich experience in the diversified streams of Civil Engineering. The department of Civil Engineering is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratory facilities having advanced equipment’s and machineries operated by experienced technicians.
The department plays a vital role in training the students through in-plant training and industrial visits to tackle the field associated problems arising in the industry.
The department is keen in inviting industry experts from reputed organizations to disseminate their knowledge and expertise among the Civil Engineering aspirants. Students are encouraged to actively participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities in reputed institutions. The students will not just learn but also practice and simulate real life situations that will make learning more meaningful and reinforced
Civil engineering is a broad field of engineering that deals with the planning, construction, and maintenance of fixed structures, or public works, as they are related to earth, water, or civilization and their processes. Most civil engineering today deals with power plants, bridges, roads, railways, structures, water supply, irrigation, the natural environment, sewer, flood control, transportation and traffic. In essence, civil engineering may be regarded as the profession that makes the world a more agreeable place in which to live.
The department has created a student association called “NIRMAN”, under the aegis of which the students have successfully conducted the events like technical quizzes, mini project exhibition, guest lectures, tech fest , celebrated engineer’s day etc
