About ECE

The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering was established in 2007 with an initial intake of 60 students. The intake was increased to 120 in 2008 and further enhanced to 180 from the year 2025. The B.Tech program in Electronics and Communication Engineering has been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for two consecutive cycles, in 2019 and 2022. The current NBA accreditation under Tier-II (Washington Accord) is valid until 30 June 2025.

All laboratories are furnished with advanced test and measuring equipment and custom- designed trainers to facilitate effective hands-on learning. The infrastructure and lab facilities are upgraded from time to time and provide good practical learning and innovative environment for the students and researchers.

The department has a strong team of 27 dedicated teaching faculty and 5 skilled technical staff. To make teaching effective and engaging, students are nurtured through a variety of learning activities such as classroom teaching, presentations, video lectures tailored for both slow and fast learners, MOOC courses, minor/honours courses, and online courses offered by faculty within the institute.

Students actively participate in national-level paper presentationsconducted at IITs, NITs, and various reputed engineering institutions. The faculty are also actively involved in research, contributing regularly to national and international conferences and journals. As a part of the curriculum, industrial visitsare arranged for all B. Tech students to provide exposure to real-world engineering practices.

The department has active participation in ISTE and CSI Student Chapters, with many of our students contributing to various professional activities under these bodies. Over the years, the department’s alumni have secured positions in leading organizations such as WIPRO, CSC, HCL, IBM, SONATA, COGNIZANT, AMAZON, Genpact, Tech Mahindra, Google, Infosys, I-Gate, TCS, and several other reputed companies. Many alumni are pursuing higher studies likeM. Tech, MBA, and MSboth within India and abroad. Experiential learning is fundamentally the process of acquiring new skills or knowledge through direct experience rather than through reading, watching, or listening. It is the most natural and effective way to learn, yielding higher engagement, stronger long-term retention, and greater transferability than other methods. Moreover, experiential learning enables richer and more comprehensive skill development.
