The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) was established in the year 2007. The Intake was increased to 120 in the year 2008, and further increased to 180 in 2012. The B.Tech Program in CSE has been accredited twice by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), in 2017 and 2020.

The curriculum of the program is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to address complex problems in the rapidly evolving world of technology. One of the key focuses of the CSE department is computer programming. Students learn various programming languages such as C++, Java, Python, and more, along with concepts like object-oriented programming, data modelling, and software engineering principles. The CSE department often collaborates with other disciplines, such as mathematics, electrical engineering, and artificial intelligence, to explore emerging areas like machine learning, computer vision, robotics, and data science These interdisciplinary programs help students gain a broader perspective and apply their skills to various domains, including healthcare, finance, cyber security, and more.

The CSE Department comprises of faculty who are not just very experienced academically but also has understanding about the latest industry advancements. Our knowledgeable faculty members are engaged in encouraging relevant educational and innovative research across the leading areas of computer science and engineering. The department with well-established labs is all equipped in preparing the students in Computer Science Engineering, an ever-evolving discipline, and its latest developments. We proudly announce that many of our alumni are leaders in academia, industry and government.

In pursuit of enhancing the technical skills of the students, the department regularly organizes co-curricular events such as; seminars, workshops, Technical Symposia, guest lecturers, etc. The department keeps the teachers abreast of the latest technical developments and advanced teaching methodologies by organizing Faculty Development Programmes.

The Computer Science & Engineering department has set up advanced laboratory facilities and the students are trained in these laboratories regularly by allotting suitable time slots in the regular time table. Students have access to high speed broad band internet connection and a well-equipped department library. The main library and department library has on- line access to IEEE Journals and magazines. Students are encouraged to participate in national level conferences & present papers.

Computer Science Technical Association (NRCMCSA), a student body of CSE Department, organizes co-curricular and extra- curricular activities for the all-round development of students. Student Chapters of IEEE, CSI and ISTE conduct events round the year, keeping students busy with beyond-the-classroom activities.
