The objective of the IIP Cell is to reduce the gap between industry expectations (practice) and academic offerings (theory) by direct involvement of industry to attain a symbiosis.
All the Stakeholders, namely: Institutions, Industry, Students and Society stand to gain as it can be a win-win partnership. The Institutions stand to gain by way of up to date curricula, source of revenue generation by consultancy and R & D, source of manpower for employment, societal relevance, and most importantly acquisition of brand name/equity; industry stands to gain by way of availability of employable manpower pool, and increased productivity; faculty stand to gain by way of exposure to latest industry practices for more effective teaching-learning processes, etc; students stand to gain by way of hands-on training, reduction of learning curve in industrial practices; and, society stands to gain by way of improved quality of goods and services.
With the rapidly changing scenario in industry and academia, the need for these two sectors to work in tandem is necessity for the present and more so for the future. IIPC was formed under the aegis of the AICTE, in 2011, to provide a platform for interaction between Industry and Institute.
Industry will utilize the high-quality knowledge and research of the Faculty community to improve the quality of its product or service, to face the challenges of global competition. On the other hand, Institute will be benefited in the form of greater financial sustainability, awareness of real-life problems of Industry, improved quality of research and human resources as well as better infrastructure development. IIPC, from the day of its inception to date, has continued to grow steadily and has developed close ties with a large number of industries in private as well as public sectors. This report of IIPC serves the purpose of broadcasting information about recent activities of the Institute to the Industries so that feasible areas of collaboration may be identified.
This cell identifies the industrial expectation and promotes institutional preparation for meeting industrial needs by facilitating sponsored R&D projects, seminars, workshops and various other industrial training programmes. Industry Institute partnership reflects in equipping faculty to latest practices and makes the students industry-ready by providing exposure to current industry practices, and hones their skills to adapt changing technologies. The primary focus of IIPC is to interact with elite industries and extend the efforts in establishing partnership with industries across the country in near future.
